    Ah! - But I do! ;-)

Personally I happen to believe that people should --

I always HAVE 'behaved myself' in the ASC forums!

Do you have evidence to the contrary?

     - not try to stimulate conversation by acting 'stupidly' OR dishonestly

I only do so on Usenet (I think!)

Now then - I'll explain what this is all about!

My 'Cunning Plan" (as my boy used to say!) was to verify that someone
'here' (ASW) is monitoring my activity and reporting back to his
'controller' in 'The Lounge" - part of the ASC forums set-up.

This Message-ID: <lieo8nF2lssU3@mid.individual.net> laid out the
question almost exactly as I'd posted it on the ASC forums.

I received four responses (notified to me by email - and I reproduced 3
    here in ACW).

Then 'someone' - whomever it is monitoring here - notified a 'moderator'
in 'The Lounge' that poster 'WhiterThanWhite' was actually David B.,
incognito, and then "I" was banned again. As far as I can tell the
original post and all responses have been removed from the ASC forums.

There is no way to challenge an arbitrary decision made by those running

I didn't ask you to harass Apple.

You want me to contact them and ask about your battle with them. That would not be appropriate.

    That is not correct.

I suggested that you 'phone Apple Support and ask if it is OK for you to reinvent yourself under a new Apple ID in order to gain access to the

Sure... it is their forum. Who else should make the rules?

Apple should make the rules - and Apple should moderate the ASC forums.

Apple do NOT moderate the ASC forums.

If you don't believe me, ask the question on the ASC forums!

    They oversee it, surely.

I'm not sure that they do. How will you find out the truth of this matter?

OK. This is all so weird.

Do YOU thinks it's OK to use an AppleID - other than your "real" one -
in order to access the ASC forums?

I would likely only use my real one. I do not know. But you said they said it
    was OK.

Yes indeed. They don't seem to think it's a security risk.

    That's on them.
Any personal information can be a security risk.

They make up their own rules, Snit.

Sure... it is their forum.

Why would I get caught up in it? I do not use the forums except very casually.

To help satisfy my curiosity! ;-)

I am not comfortable digging into them for you after you have been kicked out
for what you describe as repeated poor behavior. Does not seem moral.

THEY have described my behaviour in that way.

You must have done something to provoke those type of comments.

That is, or course, untrue. I /have/ asked searching questions and some
    folk there don't like that.
SOMEBODY there also manipulates posts/threads to suit their own agenda!

If it's a moderated forum get used to it.
The little time I have spent in Apple fora I find them to be way too fanboy like for me. People who
post about issues with Apple or their products tend to get ignored or accused of being trolls. It's
all very cult like IMHO. Apple is their God.

Why not test for yourself instead of making yourself persona non grata
    here in my Usenet group?

snit is persona non grata everywhere he goes so I doubt it will bother him in the least.

Try it ....... you might like it! ;-)

    Doubtful.

In the old days ...... do you think that reinstalling an operating on a computer effectively erased a drive?

If you just reinstalled the OS the rest of the system was fine. With Classic Mac you could have multiple OSs and "bless" whichever one you wanted to use.

Would malware on that hard drive have be eradicated?

Only if it was in the System Folder (on a Mac).

That appears NOT to happen nowadays on a Mac.

I wanted “back on the site” to satisfy myself that X704 is not simply a playground for bad guys - nowhere do I see a formal definition of why
the phbb was set up and by whom. Excluding me clearly demonstrates, to
me, that someone is hiding something! I noticed that WZZZ was

You'll note that it's run by 'BDAqua' - a top honcho on the ASC forums! >>>>>>>

Can you determine any real-life information about BDAqua?

The first question is: do I think I have the right to do so? If so do I think
there is the info required to do so?

I wanted “back on the site” to satisfy myself that X704 is not simply a playground for bad guys

Wait: you suspect it is but just asked me to post there?

    - nowhere do I see a formal definition of why
the phbb was set up and by whom. Excluding me clearly demonstrates, to
me, that someone is hiding something!

What happened before you were kicked out? Were you asking about EtreCheck and

    I noticed that WZZZ was
particularly acerbic even though he has membership of The Lounge on the
ASC forums. Logic tells me that by the law of averages, there MUST be
‘bad guys' operating on the ASC forums.

Yet you want me to go there?

    Unless you know different!

There can be "bad guys" anywhere... but no reason to think there over other places. We KNOW there are bad guys here -- Gremlin, Carroll / Glock, Pothead, Skeeter, etc.

I believe one has right to know the REAL person who is encouraging folk
to break Apple's rules whilst, at the same time, masquerading as a top

    Break Apple's rules?

I have no idea what could possibly feel wrong about any of this.

You look at these things and do not fully understand. THAT is fine. But then you assume it might be bad. Why not instead ask if it is uncommon? Try four or five other apps and do the same thing! THAT would be valuable for your investigation -- see if an app is doing something unlike other apps. But as
far as I know you never do that. Doing that would absolutely be key to any
    such digging into oddities.

Does not mean if one app is different it is evil or bad or nefarious, of course, but it at least would be uncommon and it might be interesting to see WHY it is different.

Why not do that instead of asking others to install and uninstall apps and the like?

The reason might be as simple as the fact that the downloaded file is a
    ZIP file!

    But I don't think that's it!

So you are asking about the file size discrepancy?

    Yes, I am.

Right after you said: "People ignore my questions about file size discrepancy, Snit."

    That seems odd.

Why do you reply to it at all?

I think David does have a good heart... he does not mean to be harmful as say Pothead or Skeeter or Carroll or Gremlin do. But his focus here is not healthy
    for him.

You mean you don't agree with us so that means we're bad. Typical

    The truth!

Then 'someone' - whomever it is monitoring here - notified a 'moderator'
in 'The Lounge' that poster 'WhiterThanWhite' was actually David B., incognito, and then "I" was banned again. As far as I can tell the
original post and all responses have been removed from the ASC forums.

If you Google, you will find notification that my post WAS made:-

I'm not even his first target. From what I understand, he stalked Mark
Allan, the developer of ClamXAV for years before he found me. Sometime
he'll still stalk Mark Allan for old times' sake.

He would be happy to give me his IP. He makes all of his personal
information public. He wants people to find and interact with him. He
says that anyone else who doesn't do that is a "bad guy".

In case anyone is ever wondering, this is why Apple's Apple Support Communities Use Agreement specifically says "Never reveal any personal information". Once it's out there, some creep will have taken 400
screenshots and will be reposting them across the internet for all
eternity. The only defence is simply being lucky enough not to have
attracted the interest of someone evil enough to do that. I haven't been
    lucky in that regard.

He would absolutely love to be the focus of a "watch foundation". In
fact, he already is on Usenet. They give him the engagement he desires.
They insult him, belittle him, call him every name in the book. But they continue to engage with him, they believe his lies, and often do his
bidding. It's a creepy case study of how social media functions. Stalker
is an expert at manipulating people. Stalker knows that EtreCheck
doesn't contain malware. What is true and what is false is irrelevant.
Basic human decency is irrelevant. All that matters is effectiveness. My "crime" is that I refuse to interact with him. He can stalk me, he can
harass me, but can't manipulate me. For Stalker, that's an unforgivable transgression.
