• Apple can't build AI

Apple Can't Build AI, So It's Reportedly Asking Google Gemini to Power Siri https://gizmodo.com/apple-cant-build-ai-asking-google-gemini-power-siri-1851343967

Apple is struggling to build its version of ChatGPT, so it's asking AI competitors to power the next version of Siri.

The iPhone maker reportedly held discussions with multiple AI companies
about powering iOS 18 with a competitor's technology, including OpenAI.

Apple is under intense pressure to come up with some jaw-dropping AI
features, proving that Apple is not falling behind in the next wave of technology.

The company scrapped plans for the Apple Car last month, marking the end of
a decade-long project that was supposed to inject new growth into Apple.

They could buy the recently discarded woke version Google got caught
with for cheap. It would fit the Apple corporate culture very nicely!

Headline is pretty good as clickbait goes.

Certainly Apple had their focus elsewhere and have been caught "out" on
AI in the sense of general models like ChatGPT and similar.

But to say Apple "can't build AI" is pretty silly. Their problem is
time and delivery to market - "they don't have the time to reach parity quickly" is a more accurate statement of what's going on.

Apple is very advanced in other "AI" related areas, notably machine
learning, data fusion, image processing and so on. (As Vision Pro
clearly illustrates - it is leaps and bounds ahead of everything else).

An unknown is how much of their now terminated automobile project's AI development is re-purposeable to more general AI. Chunks of it at least.

Finally, teaming with Google's Gemini project isn't exactly a bad
decision. Google of course would like all that Google Search cash to
flow back the other way. There are other suitors too.

I'm not. I didn't. You misunderstood. Sorry. I apologize for that.

I was telling the religious nutcases that everyone who tells the truth to
them about Apple products, is, *to THEM*, an "Arlen" as you've been accused
of, and as David Brooks has been accused of, and as Hank Jones has too.

I understand you, badgolferman. I know you are logical and sensible.
You aren't an Apple nutcase. Not even close. In a word, you are normal.

Three iOS apps which keep me on the iPhone are FindMy, FaceTime,
NewsTap. The first two are necessary for communicating with my family members and the third has no decent equivilent on Android.

I have no problem with "normal" people who buy Apple products.
I have probably more Apple products than many of the nutcases have.

The reason I have them is people give them to me as gifts.
And I buy them to test out what they can and cannot do.
And I very often buy them as gifts to other people (mostly kids).

The Apple religious nutjobs can't understand that someone could own Apple products and still not be a nutjob, much like a fanatical Muslim can't
fathom that someone could be a Sunni or Shia and not kill the others.

But back to my point about the moronic nutjobs always claiming they "found Arlen", which makes Arlen chuckle as it's a clear indication of how
incredibly stupid these Apple religious nutjobs truly are.

First off, this "Arlen" uses dictionary lookups to determine the nym at any given time, where, unless he makes the effort to look, he himself doesn't
even know what nym he's using as it doesn't matter in the least to him.

The header is just wrapping paper around the gift of the information in the body of the message - but the Apple religious nutjobs only see the Star of David on his sleave and they conclude everything about him from only appearances. They can't understand the gift of value is the message body.

And even so, within the body, this "Arlen" they seek, never hides.
He doesn't change his wording, his grammar, his images, nothing.

He's not hiding from them, and yet, they're too stupid to understand.
Hell, he watches them call dozens of people "Arlen" who aren't Arlen, and
who clearly aren't Arlen (they've called _you_ Arlen in the past too).

That's how incredibly stupid they truly are.
I've never met, in the flesh, people _that_ incredibly stupid in my life!

Only here. On the Apple newsgroups. Where it's filled with these morons.

It's like filling a room with Easter eggs for the blind and mentally
disabled kids to find simply by feeling around on the floors and tables,
and then these mentally disabled blind kids gleefully exclaim
    *"I found Arlen!".*

Every time they say that, I ding them five points in their IQ score.
Arlen posts thousands of times a week to a variety of forums, each with a different "header" to protects his privacy from header aggregators.

But since he posts the same images (as shown below), he's clearly not
hiding from you - but - the Apple religious nutcases are too stupid to comprehend that if he was hiding from them - he would post stuff like this.
    <https://i.postimg.cc/fRtZFGSt/sharepod01.jpg>

The Apple religious nutjobs who claim everyone is Arlen, are kind of
correct though, since anyone who tells them the truth, is, to them, Arlen.

Arlen isn’t nearly as bad as Our David.

He has multiple socks, usually with BD or DB or BDB or David B in there somewhere, but sometimes with Hunter or Hawker or Hawker Hunter (he says that he flew Hawker Hunter fighters when he was in the Royal Navy. Thst’s
_Navy_, not Air Force.) or Bawdy (his alleged callsign when flying the
alleged Hunters) often with 14 or 88 or something similar (yes, he has a certain, ahem, point of view, matching the point on his head; look up those who like 14 or 88 or 1488. Hint: what’s the 8th letter of the alphabet? And seehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourteen_Words for more.) He has been known to use other socks, but not for very long. One talk.origins there was a

I won’t go into the more repellant parts of his personality.
