I just ran across this very recent article:
https://www.knowyourmobile.com/user-guides/how-long-does-apple-support-iphones-complete-update-list/
A quotes:
Longevity of iOS Updates ⏳:
Apple offers 6-8 years of iOS updates, surpassing most Android phones.
From new (iPhone 14, 15) to older models (iPhone 8, 6s), Apple’s
support for iPhone is legendary, the industry-benchmark.
End quote
In my many years of Android phones I received only one or two OS
updates, and security updates a few times a year.
My iPhone 14 was updated to v.18 yesterday. That's the second update in
2 years.
