Rick, I am not sure that the complete process is listed.

Does it go like this to apply PTF0024 to an existing AIX system?

    U436295.1
    U436295.2
    U436295.3

    Then
    U436295.boot1 1440 Kb Fri Jan 24 20:05:00 2003
    U436295.boot2 1440 Kb Fri Jan 24 20:05:00 2003

    Then
    U436295.install 1440 Kb Fri Jan 24 20:05:00 2003
    U436295.maint 1440 Kb Fri Jan 24 20:05:00 2003
    U436295.netmagic 1440 Kb Fri Jan 24 20:05:00 2003

    I am kontuzed.

U436295 - OPSYS updates the base operating system and must be put on
before any other service update. U436295 also contains the new boot and install disks. U436295 includes all of the fixes in the previous OPSYS
    ptf (U400005).

You can boot and install with the PTF0024 install floppies. I *assume*
that this is to enable installation of the BOS on (formerly)
non-supported systems or hardware..Install with these:

    boot1.U436295
    boot2.U436295
    install.U436295
    maint.U436295
    netmagic.U436295

Sorry, Louis, I haven't been following the newsgroup for the past 2+
weeks, family matters and whatnot. I no longer have any operational IBM
    PS/2s (completely divested a while ago), I still have a 7011-250, that's
my only remaining Microchannel machine. As I recall my PTF0024 upgrade procedure from many moons ago, you only needed the 1/2/3 diskettes OR
the img file, the other diskette images would be used as assumed (to boot/install on systems not supported by the original boot/install code).
