A good game to grab. Alas, I already own it.
[raise your hand if you saw that coming.]
"Nexus: The Jupiter Incident" was originally intended to be the sequel
to "Imperium Galactic II" but a rough development meant it eventually
became its own thing. It's a neat little tactical-RTS, although I had
the most fun with the game in its first half, when your spaceship used
more 'realistic' Earth-tech. Once you get upgraded to the
alien-spaceship, a lot of the game's appeal was lost on me.
The actual gameplay was middling; it had some neat ideas that never
got implemented all that well. It also hasn't aged that well and I
remember it had problems running on modern hardware too (at least, the
original disk-version did; it's possible that the digital-download
versions fixed those issues). It was a neat game for its time but I'm
not sure it's something I'd recommend playing nowadays.
That said, everybody should snag it as a freebie. The Number demands
it of you! ;-)
