Time for games! Free games! Free games on Epic! It's Thursday, so it's
that time! So let's take the time to go get those free games on Epic.
Epic. Epic. Epic. Have I mentioned it's on Epic enough? ;-)

    * Styx: Master of Shadows https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/styx-master-of-shadows-4d9ab3
    "Master of Shadows" is, as the name suggests, a stealth game;
this one with a fantasy bent and some role-playing elements.
Take on the role of the eponymous goblin Styx as you climb
through the immense Tower of Akenash, sneaking and stealing
and assassinating your way through a variety of missions.
It's sort of a "Splinter Cell" crossed with D&D. It's not
perfect (the controls feel about off) and could use a bit
more variety, but overall a very fun game. Give it a try!

    * Styx: Shards of Darkness - Deluxe Edition https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/styx-shards-of-darkness-77c030
Styx is back with more shadowy antics. Keep to the shadows
or die miserably. Overall, an improved sequel, with a
great stealth and a good sense of humor. Not so fond of the
boss fights though (but I never am, really). But overall
it's 'more of the same', which isn't that bad considering
the first game was pretty good to begin with. The Deluxe
Edition includes a DLC that added some extra gear.

You may have these games already (just not on Epic; these freebies are
new to that platform). But the games been given away free several
times before on /other/ platforms. Still, if you haven't acquired them
yet, take the chance to grab them now. They're good games.

Anyway, you've got seven days to grab these, as usual. Until next
    week!

What is wrong with these two? They look good! No cartoons, not even
    Japanese cartoons!

    Thanks

I'm not into stealth games. I took them anyway as I have enjoyed some,
    most recently AC: Odyssey, thanks.

I tried the first one out a while ago and felt that it wasn't what I
wanted to play. But it didn't seem bad as such, no.

I will probably forget about it and not install or play it :-)

But the important thing is that you added them to your library and
made The Number go up by two ;-)

The Styx games aren't /great/ games. They're solid AA-titles but
they're not without their flaws. I'm not sure I'd call them stealth
games, either. I mean, yeah, stealth plays a part but --at least with
the first game-- it seemed I was hackin' and bashin' more than I was
skulking. It's not a game as stealth-focused as "Thief" or "Splinter
Cell". It was more like "Deus Ex", where you had stealth as an option
but used it more to get into a good position before starting the
    throw-down.

Or, at least, that's how I remember /I/ played it. I don't always pick
    the most optimal tactics ;-)
