Age verification should be device based.

Operating systems are too easily compromised.

I guarantee you whatever they do to an OS, we'd have it broken
and a hack available within 48 hours.

The Brits are already addicted to their Nanny-government which is
constantly spying on them. Along to this goes that this Nazi-style
government also forced Apple to abandon real E2E-encryption for
UK-users. Everything under the pretext to protect children from sexual
abuse: The success rate is ZERO.

    CU, Jörg

BTW: What will happen if hackers or American companies get these data
and misuse them as they do with everything they already have?

I do. I'm not at all keen for the OS to make age verification decisions on

I don't want that - but when Apple verifies the age by determining the enrollment of a credit card in Apple Wallet, it knows the personal

The personal information needed to obtain a credit card is held by the
bank that issued that card. This would be information such as date of
    birth, address, income, etc.

That data is not provided to Apple. All Apple needs to know is that
you are at least 18 years old, and simply having credit card is
    sufficient proof of that.

So why are you asking about where to get anonymous credit cards from?

Because the claim was, that Apples age verification using Apple wallet
does not require to give Apple any personal information - and this is
wrong, because you can not get a credit card anonymously and credit card
information is mandatory when using Apple wallet.

The personal information needed to obtain a credit card is held by the
bank that issued that card. This would be information such as date of
    birth, address, income, etc.

That data is not provided to Apple. All Apple needs to know is that you
are at least 18 years old, and simply having credit card is sufficient
    proof of that.

Well... that's how it is *meant* to work, but babies, dogs, and even
dead people have been issued credit cards in the past. The banks don't
really care as long as someone is paying them the massive interest
    rates for the credit. :-\

The beauty is that if you want to you can use the bank's credit card and
cash for free, no interest charged. And if you use the right card you can
also get them to pay you to do it. But it's already been discussed in an
    earlier (gasp) OT thread... 8-O

In case of a legal dispute anyone can enforce the release of personal
connected to the credit card registered in the Apple wallet. This would
just not be possible, if there was no credit card information at all
connected to the Apple account. Also at least the name of the credit
card holder is also known to Apple, if you enroll a credit card in Apple wallet.

It's quite naive to think, that you stay completely anonymous for Apple
even if you enroll a credit card there.

I didn't need to provide any personal ID. Apple just verified my age
by determining that I had credit cards enrolled in my Apple Wallet.

Where does one get credit cards anonymously?

I have no idea. Why do you want that? None of mine are anonymous.

I don't want that - but when Apple verifies the age by determining the enrollment of a credit card in Apple Wallet, it knows the personal information as well. It is part of the credit card. So there is no age verification without Apple knowing the personal information.

Apple knowing doesn't mean that Apple shares that information with the
site or app that request if you are of age.

What you've done now is shift the argument by introducing a different

    a hypothetical legal dispute.

In any case, the personal information in question would not be held by
