Hi all.. Another question from the wizard of ... here.. I understand the working of Netfoss gives your DOS board Telnet capabilities, but can I set up
1 node for dialup and the rest for Telnet?? Playing with the setup in
MakeWild for modems it only lists the 1 modem and when choosing Fossil in it,
I see no other options for other Modems etc. I didn't run WC 4 back in the
day I ran 5 with only 1 dialup so this is all greek to me.. Is there any text files explaining a quick and dirty way to get a 4.2 board up with 1 dialup
and the rest with Telnet?? Thanks in advance for help with my ignorance...

way to get a 4.2 board up with 1 dialup and the rest with Telnet??

Here I run Wildcat! 4.2SL DOS (with Joe Martin's patches) in a WinXP VM strictly for dialup and installed Mystic BBS alongside it for everything else (gives you FTP, Telnet, SSH, etc access). I interfaced to the existing WC! Filebase for Mystic so no need to duplicate files. :)

Never tried running multi-line or Netfoss as Mystic runs great!

Thanks for the answer Ben, I was going to do the same thing. Run A dialup WC along side my Mystic, but then after playing with my WC5 and seeing I could have telnet on it (if I had the add on) I decided to do both, telnet and Dialup.. I am so gung ho after getting back into SysOping that I am in the process of putting up 4 different boards, I have my Mystic up and running, I was going to run a WC (Dialup and Telnet), a CNet Amiga board through a Emulator, and a User choice board They vote and I would put it up.. Just something different then it was back in the day.. As for the file base I was doing the same thing, using the same file base between the 2.. I'll
eventually slow down and say what am I nuts? It's enough work handling family and work but running 4 boards?? LOL

This is easy to do using the WCNODEID, WCPORTID, WCIRQ(ID?) and WCMODEM (WCMDM?) environment variables in each node's startup batch file.
