Is there a way to tell synchronet to allow cursor control ansi codes in menu art?esc[s, esc[u, A-D and H all seem to be ignored :( i'm considering writing a
    flatten/optimize python app.

in JavaScript, those ANSI sequences are translated by Synchronet into Ctrl-key equivalents, as docuemnted here: https://wiki.synchro.net/server:terminal#extended_keys

But if Synchronet is running a truly *external* program (e.g. a Python app), it does no filtering or translating of terminal escape sequences for you (the "app" would have to do that for itself).
