    Is there a utility that will scan a JAM message base for cuss words and
    replace them with **** or something like that?

    not that i know of but it may be possible to create one using the old mark may MSGSRC library for pascal... that's old DOS 16 bit stuff but it should be ported to freepascal by now and it is just a matter of locating the updated code library...
