  • multiple From names

    Is it possible to use different from names for different groups/echoareas in JamNNTPd? For some reason I thought JamNNTPd will uses the name from the RFC822
    from field as long as it is listed in jamnntpd.users, but it seems it always uses the first name in the list.

    I should have kept the example jamnntpd.users file with all the comments intact
    instead of creating a new one.

    # When a user posts a message, the first realname is used as the from name
    # unless it contains wildcards.

    So "Oli,Oliver Thuns" does not work, but "*" or "Oli*" does.

    It would be nice if different names could be defined for a group, like in GoldeEd. Maybe I should add another account ...

    If you leave out the realnames field in users file, the from name in nntp client is used.

    No at the moment, you need to provision another user. :)

    Ok, I have two user accounts now :). It's also easier to configure in Claws Mail than multiple names on the same account..
