19-year-old Finnish forward Eeli Tolvanen will conclude an eventful season with
the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Denmark.

Tolvanen started the season with Jokerit Helsinki, the Finnish club in the Russian-based Kontinental Hockey League, and represented Finland in the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship and the 2018 Olympic Winter Games during the winter.

After the end of the season with Jokerit in the KHL playoffs, Tolvanen travelled to North America and joined the Nashville Predators, who drafted him in the first round (30th overall) last year.

Tolvanen played three regular season games (0 points) and appeared in 11 playoff games (6 goals, 1 assist) for the Predators, whose season ended last night against the Winnipeg Jets. At Jokerit he was the top goal scorer and second in points behind Danish national team player Nicklas Jensen. In 60 KHL games he had 25 goals and 18 assists.

Tolvanen is expected to arrive in Denmark already tomorrow and according to the
Finnish Ice Hockey Association will already play tomorrow night in the game against Canada.

Finland added defenceman Niko Mikkola of Tappara Tampere earlier today and has spots open for one more goaltender and for one more skater, which will be used for Tolvanen.
