• Net2bbs & Ezycom

From Ruben Figueroa@1:2320/100 to All on Tue Jan 19 16:39:02 2016
Has anyone have Ezycom working with Net2bbs? I am playing with it and
don't seem to be able to bring bbs up. Net2bbs is reporting having
a problem. It is not specific. I have double checked things but seems
like I have something not right on the command line.

    bbs.bat -P*n -B38400 -N*n -IP*i -D

Thanks for any assistance someone can give me.

You would have much, much better luck with GameSrv :) Much easier to
set up and get running that net2bbs.

Sorry you're having so much trouble with the FSE. I have a bunch configured here. Let me check settings for you now. Keep in mind I'm using my Picked door which allows many editors to be used.

    ezycfg
Do not use the old style MSGINFO (this is because picked also runs TIDE
which is the only FSE that uses the modern version - for the other
editors the batch file has to juggle stuff around a bit)

    FSE line:
    *C /C *M *D5 C:\ezy\picked.exe /N*N /DC:\ezy\node*N

I'm chosing to shell, and to use a door.sys drop file.

You can download picked02.zip from the Tiny's Software link on the webpage or from teh BBS. See if any of that helps?

Ruben, Just in case you did catch my other post. I've figured out the issues with external editors in EZY/net2bbs and got them all working. Since EC doesn't have a comport telnet option in the -cfg. I set ezy/comport to com-5 ...
A port that doesn't exist on this PC box. After that all my problem vanished. External editors (even Gedit) and doorgames all started to work normal as expected. I think by setting the comport wrong was causing the -h*H TCP socket handle; needed to be passed on before that spawns the application.

Now I'd like to talk Tiny (Shawn) into sharing his amazing multi ext editor script program/mod thingie with me. hehe I'm also wondering what this EZY {paths} Outside Page (eg. ezysbvoc page.voc) is suppose to be and where I can find this animal. Either it is an example for some kinda SoundBlaster dos voice player or I'm supposed to use my imagintion... Not sure about that one (:

Yes I did catch it all. Got Tide to working as well.

I am also interested in picked script he has. But right now more
interested in using DCTedit. I think I need to tell Ezy to use the

Anyone can tell me what I need to make DCTedit work?

DCTedit uses the same setting as TIDE and Gedit. use old style = NO The issue I had with the DCT v004 is that the config.exe was compressed with pkunlite. So in order to fix it with ttpatch. You need to un-compress config.exe just to get it patched. It also supports a classic mode that look, feels like Gedit. Looks like a memory hug also.

www.tinysbbs.com/files/tsoft Listed there. Far as I can remember has a bunch of config examples that look way more complex then they really are just follow the batch files and you can see waht they are doing. :)

Use old MSGTMP, and you might need a batch file to copy the files around. The docs in openedit for setting it up with ezycom should be the same, or see the picked batch files.

Thanks man, I did know about the tsoft area from back when i was messing with your 1liner bbs-scene utility. With this old ViewSonic monitor it really hard for me to see dark-blue links on webpages. So, I mess finding things that are too hard to tell what im clicking on.

I thought you might know because it is in ezycfg / system / paths 3rd line from the bottom where is says Outside Page. My ezy v3.0 doesn't even have a ezysbvoc.exe file in the folder. Might be something new the author never covered. Or whoever did the PDF docs.

one has to be careful unpacking executables, too... some software had hacking detection in place which will catch unpacking and lock you out
    of using it...

When UNP considers a program abnormal it will display a warning with the
