Bart is playing softball, and falls into a pothole in the outfield. He is wearing a softball glove on his left hand, as if he is right handed. Isn't Bart left handed?

Mr. Black couldn't afford special gloves. The children were right to stage a revolt.

That's a bald faced lie. I wasn't cutting corners on the kids equipment.

You are not the real Mr. Black any more than I am a real Space Museum. Or Captain Infinity is a real captain!

Of course I am. My great, great grandfather was the Reverand Mr. Black
(just like in the Kingston Trio song, but not the same guy), he married my great great grandmother Henrietta, who is in the museum of history here in Canada (well, their website at least). John Black Avenue in WInnipeg (as
well as the John Black Memorial Church there) is named after my great,
    great grandfather.

My grandfather had a brother named Hugh, named after his mother's brother
Hugh Sutherland, who was the first casualty of the Red River "Rebellion"
    circa 1870.

    You sound like Abe Simpson.

    http://www.simpsonsarchive.com/episodes/3F08.html

Sideshow Bob chuckles from the wastebasket as Colonel Hapablap leaves.
Cut to Grampa and Bart standing in front of the Wright Brothers' Model B
    plane on display.

Bart: Look at that hunk of junk.
Grampa: Oh, jeeh -- you're ignorant! That's the Wright Brothers' plane.
At Kitty Hawk in 1903, Charles Lindbergh flew it fifteen miles
on a thimbleful of corn oil. Singlehandedly won us the Civil
    War, it did.
Bart: So how do you know so much about American history?
Grampa: I pieced it together, mostly from sugar packets.
