    AARP Fraud Watch
Tips for Staying Safe on Amazon.com

If you buy something on Amazon.com,* youAre not necessarily buying
directly from Amazon.com. Our Fraud Watch Network helpline recently
worked with a buyer who was scammed by a third party seller on
Amazon.com. She ultimately got her money back, but she could have saved herself substantial time and efforts had she been armed with the
following tips from AARP Fraud Watch Network.

I buy a lot on Amazon and will no longer buy from 3rd party Amazon sellers.

Usually 3rd party orders are received but often late. Some sellers are in
China selling cheap crap that take forever to receive.

3rd party sellers using Amazon fulfilment service are a PITA. Constant nagging emails asking for product reviews, etc. There is no OPT OUT for 3rd party seller email spam, and support just gives lip service.

I'm an Amazon Prime member and this year made a decision to buy only when Amazon owns and ships the item.

And the amount of uised car phishing scams using Amazon's brand is appaling. Jeff Bezos could care less as fraudsters screw his brand name into the ground! https://blog.ebaymotorssucks.com/14027/02/amazon-ebay-protection-plan-fraud-al ert-2016/

Don't know about the US but in the UK it is very difficult to tell who is supplying and more importantly where they are as no contact data shown.

Now asking for a VAT invoice is even more fun and that includes Amazon.

    Wonder why ? :)
