    remove_file always comes back false =/

    do you have to run sbbs as root for this to work?

    You should never *have* to run sbbs as root. If running as root solves the problem, then you have a permissions problem. Check that the permissions on the file/directory in question (and basically your whole sbbs directory tree) are good for whatever user you run the BBS as.

    problem, then you have a permissions problem. Check that the permissions on the file/directory in question (and basically your whole sbbs directory

    the user that starts sbbs is the user throughout the entire directory structure and owner of the file in question. any other thoughts?

    No. Print the value of _errno for a clue as to why it's failing.

    The file could be open for exclusive access or locked.
