I personally use EM Client in Windows. That is the program I use instead
of outlook. I hate being forced to use outlook at work. When you are in government, you have to use microsoft slop usually.

I used to use Postbox. It was purchased by eM Client a couple years ago, and I've been a bit cranky about it ever since. eM client made me buy a license (at a discount) in order to access features I had available to me via my postbox license.

That said, it's a solid e-mail client, but the built in junk-flitering leaves a bit to be desired.
