yes, lax to lhr
KS, try it first. People often talk about giving kids benadryl to keep
them docile for long flights, but in a fraction of kids it has the
opposite effect. Ever fly on a 10 hour flight with a 3 year old hopped
up on stims?
I'm a firm believer in eating at the terminal, getting on the plane,
using noise-cancelling headphones or earplugs, setting your watch to the local time and trying to sleep as close to destination time as possible. Helps me quite a bit with the jetlag.

I often have trouble sleeping on airplanes. I've tried noise-canceling headphones (and I probably could try earplugs, but I haven't), but usually, things make sleeping difficult. The engine noise is one
factor, but I could get used to that, and headphones/earplugs could
help with that. Also, other passengers near you might turn their
overhead light on..

Also, there's often activity throughout the flight, with people walking up & down the aisles (going to the bathroom etc.), flight crew bringing food & drinks through, and announcements from the flight crew.
I recently flew to Taiwan and back, and the announcements from the flight crew wwere often enough to prevent me from sleeping very long, and they had the speaker volume turned up fairly loud. Also, on the flight back, there was a group of what looked like high school students and they were all talking together through most of the flight. On that flight (a 12 hour flight), I had an aisle seat on the right side, and there were 4 or 5 of them sitting in the middle seats right next to me all talking & working on stuff with their lights on; there were also one or two others of them would would stand in the aisle takling to them, which was right next to me, and all that activity and noise made it difficult to try to sleep. The people standing in the aisle also had to often move out of the way for other people walking through.. I was a little surprised the flight crew never said anything to them about all their activi

Last flight we took was Sacramento to Richmond for a vacation and
visiting family. I've never been so miserable and cramped. Then
something happened with my wife and found out she had a stroke on the flight. We ended up in Virginia for 5 months while she was in and out
of the hospital. Several stents and rehab later we rented a car and
drove home.... A trip to remember.

Oh, that's horrible! Hoping everything is as near to OK as possible
now...

Wow, sorry to hear. That would definitely be a scary situation. I hope she's doing okay. And I know that would be scary for you too, to see her going through that..

How did you handle things like bills, mail, etc.?

Wow... I cannot imagine what that was like. I hope she is OK now.
I've been in VA for 71 years now. It used to be a pretty great place to be... not so much anymore.
She's okay but lost some of her personality.... Some issues with motor skills on her right side.... We were in Yorktown and absolutely loved it. One block from an entryway to the battlefields. So much different than here in California.

Sorry to hear - That would definitely be hard. I hope there would be some semblance of normalcy eventually.
