xine is a unix video player that I am porting to OS/2. Right now it is very preliminary and is currently much less useful then other video players available for OS/2. It supports sound, but for video it uses aa-lib, Ascii Art. Don't go posting it to VoiceNews or other major announcement lists as it not useful for most people.
A screen shot is here. (A free bugfix to the first person who can identify the girl in the screen shot.)
The executable is called main.exe. Use -A dart
to enable audio and -extended
to use the full charactor set for Ascii art. Use --help
for more options.
I am planning to support video using DIVE, making this a MCD device like TiMidty MCD, and supporting more formats including DVD.
xine for OS/2 is dedicated to Paul Henderson.
