This updated COM.SYS driver is extended to support serial port PCI add-on cards (controllers) with implemented software IRQ sharing and works for a maximum of sixteen legacy and PCI COM ports with the reserved device names COM1 to COM16. It also supports "combo cards", PCI adapters with a combination of serial and parallel ports. If you intend to use a combo card you should also download the latest PRINT01.SYS driver.

To install:

  1. Create a temporary directory and download COM16.EXE to it.
  2. In an OS/2 Window, change to the temporary directory and enter com16 to expand the file.
  3. Follow the directions in the README file to install.

This package is intended for use only with:
  • OS/2 Warp 4, with FixPak 12 or later
  • OS/2 Warp Server for e-business
  • Convenience Package 1
  • Convenience Package 2
