Creating a Configuration File for the Server

A default essbase.cfg file is created during installation.

To edit an essbase.cfg configuration file for the server, use this procedure:

  1. Create the file in ASCII format with any text editor, such as Windows Notepad.
  2. Enter each setting on a separate line in the file. You do not need to end each line with a semicolon.
  3. Name the file essbase.cfg.
  4. Save the file in the ARBORPATH\bin directory, and include one setting on each line.
  5. Stop and restart Essbase after changing the configuration file. Essbase reads the configuration file only once, at startup.
