Dragon's Back Trail in Hong Kong is often listed as one of the best hiking trails in the world. Time Asia has listed it as the best urban hiking trail. The trail winds along a ridge made of ancient volcanic rock, from an eruption over 66 million years ago. For the majority of its length, the trail passes through thick foliage. But towards the top, it opens up and you can see the ridges behind you and the South China Sea in front of you. This hike is a little over 5.5 miles (8.9 km) long with an elevation gain of 1,154 feet (352 m). Nonetheless, it’s considered a fairly easy hike. Photo taken on October 11, 2019.
