“Dish Network Confirms Ransomware Is to Blame for Ongoing Outage”

    https://www.pcmag.com/news/dish-network-confirms-ransomware-is-to-blame-for-ongoing-outage

“Dish Network has confirmed that ransomware is to blame for a major
outage at the satellite TV provider. In an SEC filing(Opens in a new
window) on Tuesday, Dish Network officially attributed the outage to a “cyber security incident,” while also describing it as a ransomware attack.”

It is beginning to look to me that a business needs to prepare for one
    of these attacks.

Beginning? :-) But yes, I agree, there should be discussions,
development of a plan, and budget allocated to put a safety net in
place. Worst case, they'll never need to use it, but what if they do?

    First step: Avoid Microsoft Windows.
