Just the whole web in general is decaying. Spam, scammers, hackers, malware, AI generated content, fake pictures, click bate junk

Even driver download sites are just fronts for viruses and malware now.

That's been true for ten years?

Whatever, folks have managed to hijack URLs and you search for a nice,
cold hunk of steel and you get offered... supplements... mail order
    brides... secret hacks... TEMU crap...

Gooble has bought into this algorithm or AI bool-sheet and hits are not related to what I typed in... Hamzone is full o gushing reviews...
Internet Archive foolishly added an ability to add a link now, but you
can't actually see it until after you added it. NPI made FDDI cards, but
there was a site about Noode In P.blic that now has replaced it.

Folks, when we make a site today, it's about the only weg you can depend
on the interweb. What sorry excuses for gods we are...

What a sad ending to google groups. Google isn't monitoring and the flood gates have opened on all the trash.

Yes! I expected this as out of possibility. They have milliards of
bucks---why are they so miserly to finish that extremely tiny 'donation'
to the usenet-users?!? (Hopefully they take the saved money and book an ICEtrain straight to the purgatory.)
I luckily was hinted to this free news-server:
    news.eternal-september.org
    (www.eternal-september.org)
    Note: You have to register.
Apparently the time between 'looking' and uploading is 'limited'!

I see: Also you have switched to the cryptic style of
communication...... I know this from 'somewhere'......
Yes, cryptic style is mostly (not always!) a proof of someone's intelligence---but NOT of individual ethics. Cryptic style includes a
    certain amount of arrogance........
