• Norton cache

    I use Norton cache from Norton Utilities 8.

    ncache2 /ext=4528 /quick=no /read=0

    The /report parameter says /delay has default 1.00. I also tried 0.10,
    but can't tell any difference.

    Anyone have the manual to explain /delay?

    There is a difference. Pay attention to the HDD LED when writing the HDD. If the PC is relatively fast, it'll be difficult to notice the HDD LED light.
    So, increase the write buffer size. You may also need to optimize it for
    speed. Other optimization mode may decrese the write buffer and make the delayed disk write less noticable.

    T. Ment:

    This is for the Mac version but it may be useful;

    Nothing about disk cache. Apparently only DOS needs it. I can't find
    that manual anywhere.

    I found version 6.0 manuals at Winworld:

    https://winworldpc.com/product/norton-utilities/6x

    A non-zero /delay= is recommended. But I still don't see any difference
    between 1.00 vs. 0.10.
