Interestingly, they had records, apparently, of his ChatGPT conversations:
"In July 2024, five months before he allegedly set the fire,
Mr Rinderknecht asked ChatGPT to create an image of a "dystopian painting" that included a burning forest and a crowd of people running away
from a fire, according to investigators."

"A month before allegedly setting the fire, Mr Rinderknecht allegedly
inputted a prompt to ChatGPT that included the text: "I literally burnt the Bible that I had. It felt amazing. I felt so liberated."

It will be interesting to see what kind of phone these criminals use.

After he couldn't get a hold of them, officials said he then proceeded to

Thanks for finding that information. From that I dug a bit deeper and it
seems he kept his phone and data intact given the investigators apparently
even know what songs he listened to, and when he listened to them.

From that article, apparently on November 1st, 2024 he "Told ChatGPT, I literally burnt the Bible that I had. It felt amazing."

I looked up how E911 gets their location and apparently it turns on all the relevant radios (and even the barometric, aka altitude, sensor in phones).

You can't turn it off since it's done at the lowest levels in the OS.
I'm not sure if the original (unconnected) calls placed him near the fire
locus but later calls to E911 certainly showed the nearest tower down to
the specific sector antenna based on information I googled just now.

What's interesting is he was already forming his alibi, apparently...
"Successfully connected to 911 near the bottom of the trail to report the
fire. During the call, he typed into ChatGPT: "Are you at fault if a
fire is lift [sic] because of your cigarettes?" ChatGPT, according
to the complaint, responded with "Yes," along with an explanation."

Looking up when investigators confiscated his phone, it seems the most
reliable date is on or around November 8th 2024, so he kept the phone
intact the whole time, which seems rather strange since he should have
thrown it over the next bridge.

I guess he really loved his iPhone, but if he did love it so much, you'd
think he would wipe it and trade it in for a later model, if available.
