I remember when it was new to air - didn't really get into it, but
thanks for the reminder! I might have to give it a try!
I also never watched Voyager - I should give that a try too...

I somehow couldnt get into voyager, but it was good production.

I'll say TOS and TNG were my favs. All the movies were good...even
the JJ Abrams reboots. My wife really liked JJ's versions better
than all the rest. I think it was mainly because of Chris Pine.
As a sci-fi movie, the JJ ones could be ok.. as Trek films... I just
can't.
They're just too silly. Scotty swirling around in the big water tubes just the tip of it for me. Everything seemed to be way over the top exagerated to the point of being silly.

I thought he did great in Wonder Woman!

I agree. Didn't they "jump" from one ship to another (or possibly to
a planets surface) in one of the recent ones? No equipment or special tractor beams or anything to explain it, they just jumped.
I think a good story sets up the enviroment for the plot, than stays
true to the environment. Otherwise the suspension of disbelief just
doesn't work for me.
I have yet to see Wonder Woman, but I will. I'll have to let my wife know that Pine is in it...she might want to go then! :D

I think that's just the modern way of telling sci-fi stories at the
movies.
I've enjoyed the Transformers movies (just saw 5 - not as impressed
with it) and they use that "style" I think.
part. That's why I loved Star Trek and some of the others. When they do things just for flash and shock... It just makes me wonder why.

I saw it this past weekend. It is a good movie.

So does she still do the twirl around thing to change into Wonder Woman
or have they found a more elegant way to transform her?
WOnder woman is good
i like the Tv serie Preacher
DS9 was one of the best. Sisko was one of my favorite commanders. He could be diplomatic and "no bullshit" all at the same time.
As I've said before, I really liked DS9. I was impressed once it
became clear it wasn't going to be "let's jump into the wormhole and
see what we find this week" type of show.
I like how they went into the family backgrounds of the characters
more than any other series (at least it seemed that way to me).
The characters seemed more human since you got to see the "non-hero"
side of them.
And Sisko was not to be messed with. After all, he was Shaft in a
past life. ;)

I've seen bits and pieces of both series', but have never watched them all. At the time they were on, I just didn't get into them. I may
have go back and check 'em out.

To which Drew Klenotic replies...
If that's the latest one, no... and I really don't plan to unless it's late, I'm drunk and there is nothing else on TV.

Come on, it's not THAT bad!

Around here they were showing Wrath of Khan at some local cinemas for the 35th anniversary. It was amazing seeing it on the huge screen again in a comfortable chair and a bag of popcorn....
It also reminded me why I hate the JJVerse.
