• Help Needed Setting TER500 Up On New Computer

From Dran Draggore@1:2320/100 to Al Kaiser on Sat Apr 9 08:37:02 2016
How do I tell TER500 where to find the packer and I guess
    the unpaker?

Put PKUNZIP etc. in your PATH, or try copying it into the TER500 directory.

Please help so I can get to using the new computer!

Man, you sound heavily reliant on Fidonet.

Fourtunally I have a pretty good working knowledge of DOS
    ...
    "radio" computer for use
in contesting and my ham radio operations.
    ...
computer, possibly because is is a very advanced machine.
    ...
I'm sort of proud of myself for figuring this out! I don't
    know if any of the
"young generation" computer "geniuses" would be able to
    figure this out?

Man, you sound like you're 90 years old.

I still have one ham radio program that will not run on
    this computer.
It blanks out the display and I have to reboot to get out
    of it. My
STSPLUS satellite program does not work.

You may need to use a virtual machine.

Not really, but I've always enjoyed it and didn't want to give up on it even though many of the old guard is gone along with their echos.

Far from it thankfully. I've just been around computers since the days of
the TI-99 and my first computer was a TRS Model 4. I have one program that
I use now excluslivy for ham radio that started out as a Model 4 database program and STILL is in producton and a program that runs under Windows 7.

I still have one ham radio program that will not run on this
computer. It blanks out the display and I have to reboot to get

I think that is the one program that is lost. I can find a Windows substitues if I need to. Worse comes to worse I could always put DOS 6.22 on a small HD in the internal bay but I'm not thinking of that now.

Well if you're resorting to DOS, then you should try a virtual machine.
