Glenn, your message made it though to the echo on this end only because the y2k corrector (PktDate.exe) at this end undid the botched date field. Perhaps your Spitfire editor isn't Y2K compliant? The date line looked something like "652303 Jan 08". Might want to check that.

BTW, same thing with a message you sent to the Cats_Meow echo.

FWIW: His address showed just fine here in the header as well as in the origin line. Also, his origin line wasn't wrapped until it was quoted, but I'm sure it went past 80 characters. I just don't have my editor limited to wrapping at a certain amount of lines.

I noticed Marc replied also using TimEd and said he was seeing the same thing you were in regards to his address in the header. I'm not seeing that with GoldEd though.

The date was "01 Jan 80" as well, so I'm guessing it's not Y2K compliant.

confirmed... i haven't seen any bad dates in a while with my pktdate tool so i had to check my log file... my notes in my tossmail script show that i stopped correcting the dates in the pkts 07 Jul 2014 otherwise i'd not have seen it unless i did actually look at the logs and the saved *.y2k pkts...

I never received his first messages here so I'm sure sbbsecho canned them and I'm not up to reviewing my logs right now but I do know that Mike Woltz did update v3.7 and made it y2k complient.... unless he's using a different external editor. Alexi should also be complient as well....

The date in Glenn's first post that I just saw was Dec 31 1969. I guess Synchronet and GoldED and TimED have different starting points for "the first date" or something. Waldo tells me that his TimED showed Feb 1 1980 which is similar to the date your GoldED showed you ;)

Being you're using Spitifre why not use AlexiMail to export/import as it was built especially for SF.

is freemail your tosser that imports and exports the FTN PKTs to/from your spitfire? if so, the problem may reside there...

note the date in the attribution header again... i'll have to check on my main system to see what pktdate reported for your posts if you are interested...

I would guess that it's Freemail that's not Y2K compliant then. As I saw another post you made in another echo using another tosser, and the date/time was correct.

Thanks guys, I did narrow it down to Freemail being the issue. Sadly
when I tried Dogfight it died halfway through an import with a 201 or
211 error. Bill mentioned Aleximail, so I'll have a gander around and
see if I can find it.

I have it here. Signup and it's in the Spitfire file base along with a file called BAT4SFFD.ZIP I put together years ago when I ran SF. It will give you hint on setting up Alexi.
