Interesting ;-))
It is a test release from Gunter (crash fix in statistics page with much free memory).
BTW how can I set all messages in an area to read. (catch up all in golded)?
BTW2:
"Subscribing Areas on HPT works, but unsubscribing does not.
HPT areafix list looks like this
*S 4dos ... description
When I subscribe in the OpenXP area manager it subscribes to 4dos.
When I try to unsubscribe with the OpenXP area manager it tries to unsubscribe S instead of 4dos!"
Are you running a Linux version of OpenXP? How well does it work?
Yes, Im running the 64-Bit version in a VM under Mageia5 and it works extremely well, as does the 32-Bit version.
The new project is hosted on SourceForge: https://sourceforge.net/projects/openxp5
I'm currently knocking up a simple Web site:
http://openxp.uk
After many years away from Fido, it's so *very* refreshing to see that there's still a bit of interest and my dearest wish is to see it make
a comeback. Thanks for all your replies guys.

"Message/All/Read".
When I try to unsubscribe with the OpenXP area manager it triesSorry but I can't reproduce the problem here.
to unsubscribe S instead of 4dos!"
All I can suggest for now is to manually compose a message to Areafix.

Last time I tried installing OpenXP, it was a 4.x version and Fedora complained about the lack of a couple of utilities (I don't remember
which ones).
I found the OpenXP 5 to which you refered and downloaded
the 64-Bit version. It installed fine and I tried it briefly.
I need to configure it and see it if will finally allow me to replace Professional Point which I have been running in a DOSBox VM for a number of years.

Thanks. I visited your site and downloaded the documentation for OpenXP from there.

"Message/All/Read".
Thanx!
As you see I am a OpenXP Noob.

Sorry but I can't reproduce the problem here.
I can give you a point if it helps you.

That is the workaround that I use ;))
But it is strange that you can use the manager to subscribe, but not to unsubscribe.

Thanks but my BossNode is also using hpt and there are many areas in his areas list which have an "S" and a "*" before the area name. I need to do some further testing to see if it's a bug in OpenXP.
Just to bring you up to speed, OpenXP "died" many years ago(circa
2008) and lay dormant until late 2013 when, much to my surprise(and
joy), a German chappie re-started development. Since then, there have been many new releases as the "old" code was somewhat buggy. The
biggest new feature so far is support for SSL/TLS encrypted
connections. The Fido side of things has had no work done on it
simply because it didn't need it ;-)

it looks as though this a bug in OpenXP. I'll report this to the developer.

That's awesome! Welcome back, for sure I'll take a look at it. I have a MacOS point setup at my work laptop and an Aftershock-based
point, and am very interested at point softwares!

OpenXP is available for Linux and Windows.
I know absolutely nothing about Macs, so I haven't a clue how you
would get OpenXP to run on a Mac. Sorry for being a bit "dumb" but I would be very interested to hear how you get on with this, thanks.
