Running internally would not do the tests to see if an ISP is messing with say SSH connections or others.
It has to run on an EXTERNAL host... to be accurate for the tests... unless you
wanted to setup a lab with some of the various hardware to test if you are mucking up things for users. :) ;)
BTW, I didn't hear about this and I'm interested too :-)

This offers some setup for 12.04, as a test... If I can find time, I might put a test VM up to see if it installs runs on 14.04, and then move it to a VPS in my DC..
