    Hello Everybody,

An inquiring Belgian asked, so he shall be given an answer -

“Fascism is a form of political and social behavior that arises
when the middle class, finding its hopes frustrated by economic
instability coupled with political polarization and deadlock,
abandons traditional ideologies and turns, with the approbation
of police and military forces, to a poorly-defined but emotionally
appealing soteriology of national unity, immediate and direct
resolution of problems, and intolerance for dissent.”
    (Chuck Anesi, 2008)

Il Duce would have his squadristi (blackshirts) teach the lad
a lesson as to what fascism *really* is ...

That's about one of the most stupid and ignorant definitions I've ever seen.

Fascism originally simply meant that the politicians made their decisions to
suit the corporations and not the people.

Ahem... Come to think of it, is there perhaps a typical country where this has been predominant since circa a century ago...? 8-)

    What do you mean, *about*?

I challenge you, and all, to find a more stupid and ignorant
definition. Even GWB's definition - the one which he defined
himself as being The Decider - is far superior.

Fascism originally simply meant that the politicians made their decisions
    to
suit the corporations and not the people.

That is, in essence, how Benito Mussolini described it.

Ahem... Come to think of it, is there perhaps a typical country where this has been predominant since circa a century ago...? 8-)

All democracies have fascist tendencies. Including the USA.
Most people tend to think of fascism as being evil. But is it?
After the events of 9-11, GWB rounded up thousands of innocent
people, and had them locked up without charges. Most, if not
all, were Muslim. Half were deported as they were not legally
here to begin with. The other half were eventually released.

Immediately following the events of 9-11, GWB had the support
of almost 100% of the population, and was able to basically
rule by decree. Nobody could oppose him, and the Congress gave
him everything he wanted. And I mean everything.

The current occupant of the White House is having some problems.
Just like GWB did in his early days. Had it not been for 9-11,
the GWB presidency would have been a total flop, and he would
have been turned out of office after his first term. What do you
think it will take to save a president whose popularity rating
has plummetted to under 30% after barely one week in office?

"I stand with the people gathered across the country tonight
defending our values & our Constitution. This is not who we are."

Around the coming of the era of industrialisation there was another country very famous for that practice ...

    Hello Ward,

An inquiring Belgian asked, so he shall be given an answer -

    No, he did not.

Nobody says you have to like the answer.

But for your benefit, here is a definition more to your liking -

Fascism - the openly terrorist dictatorship of the most reactionary,
most chauvinistic and most imperialistic elements of finance capital.
-Seventh World Congress of the Communist International (1935)

This definition was known as the Dimitrov Formulation, named after
Georgi Dimitrov, head of the Comintern. This definition provides a
rock solid Marxist foundation for understanding the true nature of
fascism, and should be regarded as absolute truth.
