In spurts... generally proceded by someone wondering, like you just
    did... <G>

other things and forget about answering here... (hey, Damon...? [g])

Even when there is some posting, it's still a (relatively) safe place to camp... :)

Would it be <CLUNK> <CLUNK> for 2 wooden nickels?? <G>

Probably... but I used pennies... ;)

BTW, I only got this one most places (including this bbs), only a few
places recognized that the other message wasn't a dupe. And, somehow,
you also managed to send out dupes, as I saw both messages twice at one
bbs, the second time tucked into the dupes area... Anyway, just a FWIW
for you. :) As to getting caught, that was the point of the tagline
on the other message, after all.. ;)

Better save up on them...I keep hearing that they're going to quit
making pennies, and round up prices on everything to end in either
    "5" or "0".

And round the taxes to compensate...? I'll believe that rumor when it
    actually happens to happen...

I had to do a fresh install of Windows XP. I tried to fix a
corrupted device driver, and crashed the system. When I rebooted, XP
would not let me use it, because "it hadn't been activated", and I was never given the chance to.

    Not nice.

As for the dupes, the messages weren't tossing, so I ran the
utilities again...then discovered that with the reinstall of XP, it had REMOVED all the path statements from the AUTOEXEC.NT file...including those of the archivers needed for netmail and echomail packets.

    That would probably explain it...

    Not nice.

Then to add to it, I spent all day Tuesday rebuilding message areas
in trying to get a new message network online. I think the problem
was at the hub system...but, I discovered I had duplicate deals for several echoes, and I had to go through over 500 areas (the original purpose for BBS's was messages), and remove those. I didn't get a
chance to eat until after I finished 3 ham radio nets at mid-evening.

Busy, busy... I've always seen bbses as primarily for messages, and
only secondarily for games and/or files.

A nightmare and thirst woke me, so I got up to see if maintenance
had run...a batchfile glitch had skipped the echomail and netmail part
of it, so I had to do that again. Never a dull moment being a Sysop (sigh!).

Always something else needing to be done... :)
