    Mmmmmmm ... hot peppers.

Yup... Good stuff... clean out the sinuses, heal the ulcers... taste wonderful... :) Go well with all sorts of cuisines... :)

Of course, rice or tea, or milk, do better for calming the fire than
    water, should one overindulge... ;)

    Hey Nancy!

Of course, rice or tea, or milk, do better for calming the fire
than water, should one overindulge... ;)

In my younger drinking daze I found gin and tonic to be the best mouth cleanser when eating hot peppers as well as extremely hot and spicey foods. Of the above quoted 'cures', I found milk to work the best, although not as good as gin and tonic.

Never tried that with spicy foods... probably both because I was less
into spicy when I was younger, and because I rarely (maybe only once or
twice in my life) have had a gin and tonic.. <G>

Of the above quoted 'cures', I found milk to work the best,

It mostly depends on what's available when you need it... ;)

    Hey Nancy!

That is the usual case. However in this case neither gin or milk handy at the moment. Mind you no hot and/or spicey food for that matter.

I really need to get out more.

Sounds like. ;) We were just treated to lunch at a nice Thai place
here in town... two of the three entrees had some nice heat to them...
served with white rice, and we'd ordered a pot of lemongrass tea...
between the rice and the tea, the entrees stayed well tamed... :) We
had duck with ginger sauce, Evil Jungle Prince pork, and Basil beef...
the last was the non-spicy... :)

They've got takeout, anyway... ;) I doubt they airlift delivery,
though... The duck BTW was Duck Phat Prigkin... I finally remembered
the proper name... ginger sauce is more descriptive though if you don't
know what the Thai means... ;) Evil Jungle Prince is a coconut milk and lemongrass based curry sauce...

Guess you'll just have to come out here someday for a visit, share some
Scotch and Irish whiskey with me, visit good restaurants... ;)

In my younger days I would have jumped at the opportunity. These days I cannot even afford to take a trip across the Strait to Vancouver which definetly has the same types of resaurants (Thai) as well as a slew of others while they are at it. If I am not mistaken the sushi restaurants got their foothold in North America in Vancouver. Also we'd both be tourists there although I probably know my way around there better than most tourists.

Interesting to think about for sure. Thank you for that.

I can understand... I'm not so easily mobile myself nowadays... money
does get tight when one is on limited income... ;)

If I am not mistaken the sushi restaurants got their foothold in
    North America in Vancouver.

I'd not be surprised... Oregon and Washington state have a relatively
high Japanese population, too, possibly other Asian as well... :) So
that could have been another early foothold...

Also we'd both be tourists there although I probably know my way
around there better than most tourists.
Interesting to think about for sure. Thank you for that.

I guess we'll just have to figure on IF either gets to the other coast,
to look each other up... ;) Ya never know... ;)
