• Old VBBS SysOp looking for new software

From Stephen Perry@1:2320/100 to All on Thu Aug 4 21:10:02 2016
Hello. I'm an old SysOp from back in the late 80's thru to the mid 90's. I ran a BBS in Marion, Ohio called Deafened Psychosis. At that time I was
using the handle of Weird Al. I ran VBBS most of that time. While I'm nostalgic for the old days, I am realistic about the future and I can't see myself using VBBS, even though it's better than it's ever been. Mystic
appears to be the much better option, especially now that I've been digging into Linux and Raspberry Pi projects the last few months. I still have all
of my old ANSi art (something I loved to do) and I'm looking to connect back into the BBS community, as well as the messaging networks, like FidoNet that
I used to participate in on my BBS. Not sure whether I'll even use the old name or handle (I should), but I'm looking to download the software and get started ASAP.

    Download Mystic at www.mysticbbs.com.

Also look on Youtube for "Mystic Guy". You will find several tutorial
videos teaching how to configure your system properly.

I agree. There are several choices. Synchronet is probably more powerful for now but takes a lot more to configure properly. Mystic is easiest to setup
and there are plenty of recent tutorials as well. Both are being actively developed.

Have you been to http://www.vadvbbs.com lately? :)

Yes, I checked it out first. Its community is dead.
