    4. Do you know what day it is?

Just to show you how versatile the inventory presented by our hundreds of sellers can be, we've been researching little-known national and world-wide "holidays" that most people aren't familiar with and matching them up with items for sale on TIAS.com.

Visit our board for examples of the April Birthstone: Diamond https://www.pinterest.com/TIASAntiques/april-birthstone-diamond/

As the April birthstone, diamonds are the ideal gift. They also make up traditional engagement rings. Diamonds in shades of yellow, red, pink, blue, and green range in intensity from faint to vivid. The more saturated the color
    usually means higher value.

Here's a story from Sharon B that relates to hidden items. [Sharon, please send
me your mailing address so your I can send your tape measure.]

Hidden items... This reminded me of my mother. She had a big freezer chest that she kept frozen meats, vegetables, etc. My brother went to clean it out because it quit working and he found a bag of 250 silver dollars. When he asked her about it, she was like, "Yeah, I didn't want anyone spending it"

    Thanks,
    Sharon B

Here's Debbie from Oregon's story (tape measure on the way!):

Linda from Alaska's story about finding money in odd places reminded me of my own experience. I was left as the executor of an older couples estate. While cleaning out the house I found several of the old glass cilinder-style Alka-Seltzer bottles in drawers. Each bottle was full of quarters. I ended up
finding about $500.00 worth of quarter filled bottles!

    Debbie N

    10. Vintage Recipes

Be sure to check out our vintage recipe archive online at: http://bit.ly/1vDXn6h. Over 1200 wonderful vintage recipes are listed. Email recipes@tias.com if you would like to submit a recipe.

As with collectibles, people also have very strong feelings about foods from their past. Sometimes these special recipes get lost. This section is to help
people who are looking for lost recipes from their past. If you submit a request, please include the geographical region where you tasted the recipe. If you have a vintage recipe request send it to recipes@tias.com and we might just publish it here.

We didn't have any response to this request from Pat in Buenos Aires so we thought we'd run it again :

Hi. I wonder if anybody has a foolproof recipe for Austrian kn++del, which my mother made when I was I child. I think there were two kinds: bread and potatoes. Boiled, in soup or baked, I can't remember. I have tried some recipes , but unsuccessfully. Can anybody help me? Pat, Buenos Aires.

Did we receive several responses for Julie, who was looking for a recipe for Merryfield Apple Cake. Thanks to Carol T, Dee S, Sherry and Althea for this one! Sherry and Althea both say they found it in their 1980 copies of Good Housekeeping Illustrated Cookbook.
