Ehhhh. I liked the general concept of both plots, as basic as the Lisa/Marge one was, and the plot points were fine but the tone just felt too goofy and loose. It also seems like the names in the title should be reversed. And super short. Sam Simon EP still. Whee.
    DYN:
...the Nathan Lane line is verrrrry obviously changed from something else (with
    a lot of syllables)?
    Previous episode stuff
7F16: Homer apparently driving a hover version of The Homer in cloud open CABF06: Skinner doing blackboard punishment
3F14: Neat & Tidy piano movers
2F02: Archie gang shows up again
3G03: Shary Bobbins in British football open
    Meta stuff
Several things come up, like discussion of strangling, Bart's calling Homer by his first name, Homer's banners, Lisa's pearls, Bart's prankster side...
A license plate in the British football sequence is "VABF 111" (with space and,
yes, three 1s for some reason).
There's a Walter Matthau impression in the Bad News Bears show and it sounds like Dan Castellaneta does it; it might also remind you of an early Homer voice.
    Aaaaand:
Lisa rants about exploiting things (such as, I guess, the Bad News Bears name) until they're worthless, and then a flashing subtitle comes on screen to remind
us that Simpsons season 17 DVDs are still on sale. This is not only not a good example (it's about the only merchandise that DOESN'T risk cheapening the brand, especially since the DVDs have lots of added material), but it's really kind of a sick joke, since season 17 is the last season available on special edition DVD (or Blu-ray) and it came out a few years ago, with no more coming in the near future since apparently Al Jean feels that sales numbers any other studio would kill for aren't enough to keep them putting recent seasons out. Apparently they're merely exploiting the show. Who knew? They sure weren't perfect but they were close and definitely better than nothing. So, eat a dick,
all relevant parties. Also, we'll see if this gag stays in repeats or whatever.
