• Notes for TABF20 (Lisa with an "S") (and last week's TABF17 repeat)

Eh, started off pretty well and the general tone was good, but the plot just sort of stopped dead in the last minute as if they wrote themselves into a corner (or out of time) and said oh never mind. Appropriately enough (see 5F11 for this joke), it was an ending supplied, in a way, by Moe. Cute showtune parody opening to get us in the mood, though, I liked the sub-subplot of Amish Flanders, and a few pretty clever/funny gags (such as the Snoopy/Garfield joke and Sardi's/Hardee's). Very very short (even with the "inessential tag" before the credits).
    DYN:
...the music for the Star Trek couch gag seemed to take direct inspiration from
the score for Star Trek V (which also lacked clear direction and had an unsatisfying end)?
...Homer explains what IOU stands for on his IOU (for some reason - there isn't
    really a joke)?
    Previous episode stuff
KABF08: Chazz Busby returns (though Lisa doesn't seem to recognize him), and just a short time later Lisa even seems to be losing her voice to smoke
9F15: Homer's silly union is different now (looked like "Nuclear Feather-Bedders")
    Meta
-Lisa refers to "this side of the Mississippi" and Homer isn't sure which it is -One reason Lisa will be a star, besides her talent and smarts, is her star-shaped head
-Bart says they should just get a place in NYC because they go there so often (not sure this is terribly accurate)
TABF17 ('Cue Detective) repeat last week
In the east, 11/15's 7:00 airing was joined in progress because of a late football game. At about 7:18, it ran that now-standard abridged NABF21 opening (about 25 seconds), then about 7:22, it came back with the joining-in-progress announcement and cut to Alton Brown's cookoff welcome speech. That's all.

    The Simpsons
    Lisa With an 'S'

    "What's Springfield's version of Sardi's?"
    "Hardees!"

Lenny actually looks like some of the guys who play poker in those tournaments on ESPN.

"Doesn't look like band camp is in the cards."

When Marge was crying by the window I tried to figure out the constellations in
the sky in the background and from that deduce Springfield's location but, um, ... I don't know what i am talking about.

"Mannix was the one man I had to nix."

Is Lanie Fontaine supposed to be Lanie Kazan? I am too lazy to read her IMDB page to find out for sure.
    http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0443577/

Chaz Busby. Name sounds like Busby Berkeley, and the character looks like Roy Scheider's rendition of Bob Fosse. Fosse and Scheider are both dead, so it looks like the curse is back!

    "Who's watching you?"
    "Sonny and Sticks."

    Whatever happened to:

    Marge drives by.

Marge: Lisa! Get away from that jazz man!
Lisa: But Mom! Can I stay a little longer? Can I Mom, can I?

    "C'mon guys, don't I get a puff?"
